Wildlife For Everyone Foundation Elects Dennis Coleman New Board Member

On April 8, Wildlife for Everyone Foundation recently elected Dennis Coleman, Howard, Centre County, to the Board of Directors.

Three current trustees were re-elected: Jim Eckles (Pittsburgh), Mike Harpster (Tyrone, Blair County) and Janet Nyce (Elliottsburg, Perry County) who will continue as president for the nonprofit organization.

The incoming trustees will serve three-year terms through 2023.

Dennis Coleman received his B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences with a minor in Biology from Penn State University. Formerly, a contractor, Coleman is an avid outdoorsman.

He is a member of Wildlife for Everyone’s Wetlands Committee, a multi-

disciplinary group that provides leadership to the ADA-compliant project that will be developed in the Tom Ridge and Julian Wetlands in Huston Township, Centre County.

Coleman sought out the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation to provide input into the wetlands project.

Confined to a wheelchair as a result of an accident, he offers a unique perspective to the design of the project that will include a raised boardwalk, observation areas, handicapped-accessible fishing platform and educational signage.

“The Tom Ridge project will allow me and other people with physical disabilities the opportunity to fish the Bald Eagle Creek and be immersed in a wetlands habitat. There are not many trails through nature that are wheelchair accessible, so I am anxious to see the Tm Ridge project fully completed,” comments Coleman.

“Denny has been an invaluable asset to the design of the project thus far. His input is borne from experience and we look forward to his future contributions,” comments Russ Schleiden, chairman of the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation.
