PA Envirothon Creates Daily Online ‘Taking A Natural Challenge’ For Envirothon Students May 18-22
|
Pennsylvania Envirothon is hosting a daily online Taking A Natural Challenge the week of May 18 to 22 for high school students who were to participate in the county and statewide Envirothon competitions. The Envirothon board wanted to create this opportunity so that students who spent all year preparing can still see how they would have performed and can stay engaged in the program. The online challenges include a daily quiz, similar to the competition tests, covering each of the Envirothon station topics - Soils/Land Use, Forestry, Wildlife, Aquatic Ecology, and Current Issue (Groundwater). How It Works There will be a test for each day, accessible only to high-school students who are participating in Envirothon in Pennsylvania this year. Students must contact your County Coordinator to get on the list for access to the tests. Then each day of Pennsylvania Envirothon Week students will be emailed a link to a multiple-choice test. Here is the station schedule: -- May 18 – Dirty Monday – Soils and Land Use Challenge -- May 19 – Trending Tuesday – Current Issue Challenge -- May 20 – Wildlife Wednesday – Wildlife Challenge -- May 21 – Thirsty Thursday – Aquatic Ecology Challenge -- May 22 – Forestry Friday – Forestry Challenge The tests will be emailed to students by 1:00 p.m. and your entry must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. of the same day. This will be an individual challenge, so each student should do their best on each station each day. Students will need to complete each of your attempts in one sitting, and students must adhere to the honor code-- no use of any resources while you take each challenge. Prizes for the top scorers will be awarded for each day. The top 10 scores will each receive a $20 gift card. In the event that there are more than 10 top scorers for a given day, the board will randomly select 10 winners from the pool of top scorers. At the end of the week, the top overall scorers will win Pennsylvania Envirothon apparel! For more information, visit the PA Envirothon Facebook page.
