Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate--

House

Blocking Environmental Regulations: House Bill 2416 (Everett-R-Lycoming), that would stop any proposed or final environmental or other state agency regulation from being finalized during the COVID-19 emergency (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was reported out of the House Appropriations Committee  and is now on the Calendar for action

Senate 

Alternative On-Lot Septic Systems: Senate Bill 1030 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) which would amend the Sewage Facilities Act to change the process for considering alternative on-lot sewage disposal systems in local sewage facilities plans (Senate Fiscal Note & Summary) was passed unanimously by the Senate and now goes to the House.

Eliminating Mandatory Public Report On Mine Subsidence Damage: Senate Bill 763 (Bartolotta-R- Washington) would eliminate the annual public report on subsidence damage from underground coal mining was reported out of the Senate Appropriations Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.  Read more here.

Regulating Turf Fertilizer Application: Senate Bill 915 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) regulating the application of fertilizer on turf was reported out of the Senate Appropriations Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.    Read more here.
