Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate--

House

Farm Succession Grants: House Bill 881 (Fee-R-Lancaster) would authorize the use of Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Fund monies for farm succession planning grants (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was passed by the House and now goes to the Senate for action.

Senate

Blocking Environmental Regulations: Senate Bill 327 (Argall-R- Schuylkill), which contains a provision that would stop any proposed or final environmental or other state agency regulation from being finalized during the COVID-19 emergency was passed by Republicans in the Senate and House.  The next stop is the Governor’s desk.  [Note: Senate Republicans may be withholding transmission of the bill to the Governor to let political pressure build.]

Bike Lane Parking Restrictions: Senate Bill 565 (Farnese-D-Philadelphia) further providing for parking restrictions next to bike lanes (sponsor summary) was Tabled.

Waste Tire Penalties: House Bill 342 (Cruz-D-Philadelphia) increasing penalties for illegal waste tire disposal in the City of Philadelphia (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was Tabled.
