On May 11, Keep PA Beautiful encouraged students to apply to be on Keep America Beautiful's  National Youth Advisory Council.  Applications will be accepted through July 10.

This is an opportunity for 20 high school students (enrolled in public or private high school by September 2020) from diverse backgrounds to participate in a service learning and leadership development program.

The YAC members will provide an original point of view in assessing Keep America Beautiful programs, implement local service projects and will act as ambassadors and leaders for youth service in their respective communities and states.

“Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful believes that our younger generation is the key to a cleaner more sustainable environment. I encourage Pennsylvania students to embrace this distinctive opportunity. The National Youth Advisory Council will provide a unique experience that can be transferred to other leadership opportunities in the future,” stated Shannon Reiter, President of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, the state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful.

Pennsylvania had a representative on the Council in prior years, a student from Erie-- Elena Prenovitz-- served on the Council for two years.
