ARIPPA Anthracite & Bituminous Regions Reclamation Mini Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

The Anthracite Region Independent Power Producers Association has again partnered with the Eastern PA Coalition For Abandoned Mine Reclamation and Western PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation to award mini grants for local mine reclamation projects.

The deadline for applications is July 31.

Grants of a maximum of $2,500 will be awarded to at least one eligible environmental organization or Conservation District in the Anthracite Region and one eligible environmental organization or Conservation District in the Bituminous Region.

ARIPPA and its members remove and reclaim coal refuse piles and turn them into energy. 145 million tons of coal refuse have been processed and converted into alternative energy by their member plants from 1998 to 2008.
