Need to get rid of tires or wheels from your car or truck? The Independence Conservancy will hold an affordable community tire collection in cooperation with Findlay Township on Saturday, June 20 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.

The event will be held at the Findlay Township Road Department, 1058 Clinton Road, Clinton, PA 15026.

Individuals and small businesses are welcome. No proof of residency is required, and there is no limit to the number of tires or wheels any one person may bring.

Disposal fees for auto and light truck tires up to 18” off rim are $3 each; $5 if on rim.

SUV and light truck tires 19” through 22” off rim are $5 each. Tractor trailer tires up to 22.5” are $20 each. Farm tractor rear tires up to 75 lbs. are $20 each; up to 150 lbs. are $40 each; and over 150 lbs. are $75 each. No rims, please, on the tractor trailer or farm tires.

Event organizers ask that visitors remain in their cars at all times during the unloading process and observe social distance.

Community tire collections are offered as a public service to provide convenient, affordable disposal of scrap tires, thus reducing the risk of West Nile, Zika and other diseases by eliminating stagnant water where mosquitoes breed.

Since 2004, over 54,000 tires and wheels have been properly disposed through this program.
