PA Conservation Districts Assn. Creates PSAs On The Importance Of Planting Native Plants
Photo

The PA Association of Conservation Districts is now distributing public service announcements on the Importance Of Planting Native Plants to help improve water quality and attract pollinators.

The PSA have a fun, clear message--

Did you know there are easy steps you can take to make a

difference in your community?

Every day, the state’s sixty-six conservation districts work to

prevent pollution in Pennsylvania. But we can’t do this alone. We

need your help.

By taking a few simple steps, we can all make a difference:

-- Plant native plants;

-- Native plants don’t need to be watered as much as nonnative plants which saves you money;

-- Native plants attract pollinators;

-- They will fare better through frost and drought;

-- Plant native bushes and trees along streams to help prevent water pollution and flooding, and;

-- If you have grass, set your mower height to three inches and never mow grass near a stream.

Together, we can conserve our resources and keep Pennsylvania growing. Remember, it’s up to all of us to be good stewards of our Commonwealth.

PACD is encouraging conservation districts and partners to promote the use of the PSAs through social media.
