Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate-- House-- Blocking RGGI: House Bill 2025 (Struzzi-R-Indiana) which would block Pennsylvania joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to reduce carbon emissions from power plants without approval by the General Assembly (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was passed by the House 130 to 71 [not veto proof] and now goes to the Senate for action. Post-Consumer Plastics Recycling: House Bill 1808 (Mackenzie-R-Berks) would encourage the post-consumer recycling of plastics not mixed with garbage (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was passed by the House and now goes to the Senate for action. Veterans Park Fee Discounts: House Bill 1311 (Murt-R-Montgomery) providing veterans with a discount on State Park fees (House Fiscal Note & Summary) was passed by the House and now goes to the Senate for action. Reclamation Advisory Board: House Bill 2219 (James-R-Venango) adding a representative of the coal waste-fired power industry to DEP’s Reclamation Advisory Board was referred to the House Appropriations Committee. |
