Landowner Donates 21 Acres To French Creek Valley Conservancy In Crawford County
Photo

Kerry Brace of Pittsburgh, recently donated 21 acres along Kennedy Hill Road in Union Township, Crawford County to the French Creek Valley Conservancy.

With this acquisition, FCVC has now permanently protected more than 2,500 acres throughout the watershed.

Named in honor of Kerry’s father, the Robert Brace Nature Reserve has been in the Brace family for several generations. The original parcel was a much larger working farm on which the Brace family raised cattle for milking and beef production.

The property consists of mature forest, which serves as habitat for diverse local wildlife. The property also protects the same headwaters as our nearby Lew's Land property.

This property will be open to the public for passive, leave no trace activities such as hiking and bird watching, and may be enrolled in the Game Commission's Hunter Access Program.

For more information on programs, initiatives, upcoming events and how you can get along, visit the French Creek Valley Conservancy website.
