Help Wanted: Watershed Manager, SBDC Environmental Consultant

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is seeking a conservation professional to fill the position of Watershed Manager in the Upper Allegheny.

The position will manage WPC’s freshwater conservation activities for the upper Allegheny River watershed. Position will be based in Ridgway, Pa.

The successful candidate will have a master’s degree or equivalent work experience in watershed science, wetlands ecology, or hydrology. Three-five years’ experience with hands-on projects to remediate threats to freshwater conservation targets is required.

Familiarity with watershed assessment and planning and Conservation Action Planning desired. Fundraising and project management experience required.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania seeks an Environmental Consultant to provide environmental consulting assistance to small businesses statewide through the Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers Environmental Management Assistance Program.

Consulting assistance includes: conducting emissions calculations, assisting with air, waste, water discharge permit applications, assisting requests for determination, assisting businesses to develop corrective action plans based on Notices of Violation issued and interfacing with environmental regulators. Assist in preparing publications, occasional public speaking and other duties as required. Travel required.

A Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree preferred, 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Regulatory agency or industry consulting experience preferred; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Ability to translate and communicate complex technical and regulatory requirements in layman terms; Ability to work with a team of environmental professionals.
