PA Sustainable Agriculture: Finance Your Soil Health: PA’s Resource Enhancement & Protection Program Webinar Oct. 7
|
The PA Association for Sustainable Agriculture will host an October 7 webinar on Financing Your Soil Health - Pennsylvania’s Resource Enhancement and Protection Farm Conservation Tax Credit Program from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Do you have big ideas for how to improve soil health and sustainability on your farm, but you need some help with financing equipment, technical planning, and developing infrastructure? Pennsylvania’s Resource Enhancement and Protection Program (REAP) allows farmers and businesses to earn tradable tax credits for implementing management practices that will enhance production and protect natural resources. Join REAP program manager Joel Semke, Pasa’s Policy Strategist Sara Nicholas, and Pasa’s Education Director Franklin Egan to learn more about this valuable opportunity, as well as Lamont Garber from Stroud Water Research Center who helped develop the program. Recent changes to REAP allows farmers to cover up to 90 percent of their costs for soil health projects and practices--potentially including soil health testing and consulting, cover crop seeds, reduced-tillage equipment, fencing, and riparian buffers. PASA is also working with food and ag businesses that can earn tax credits by sponsoring REAP soil health projects on Pennsylvania farms. Click Here to register. Questions should be directed to Franklin Egan by email to: franklin@pasafarming.org or call 814.349.9856 x707.
