PA Conservation District Assn. Creates PSAs On Responsibly Disposing Of Leaf Waste

The PA Association of Conservation Districts is now distributing public service announcements to encourage citizens to responsibly dispose of their leaf waste.

The PSA have a fun, clear message--

Did you know there are easy steps you can take to make a difference in your community?

Every day, the state’s sixty-six conservation districts work to prevent pollution in Pennsylvania. But we can’t do this alone. We need your help.

By taking a few simple steps, we can all make a difference.

-- Compost leaves instead of putting them out for the trash or burning them;

-- Use biodegradable bags for municipal composting;

-- Use leaves to cover bare ground around flowers and vegetables leaving space around the stems to prevent rot, and;

-- Do not rake leaves into the street where they can wash into storm drains and cause floods.

Together, we can conserve our resources and keep Pennsylvania growing. Remember, it’s up to all of us to be good stewards of our Commonwealth.

PACD is encouraging conservation districts and partners to promote the use of the PSAs through social media.
