Fish & Boat Commission Hosting Virtual 2-Part Women's Intro To Fly Fishing Program Feb. 16 & 17

The Fish and Boat Commission is hosting a free virtual two-part Women's Intro To Fly Fishing Program on February 16 and 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on both nights.

All who complete the two-part virtual program will be invited to participate in future on-water fly fishing program opportunities.

-- PART 1 - February 16: Participants learn about the basics of fly fishing equipment (rod, reel, line, leader), how it all goes together, 2 basic knots, 2 basic casts.

-- PART 2 - February 17: Participants learn about the basics of aquatic insect identification, comparing live insects to the artificial fly, basics on the difference between dry flies, nymphs and streams, how to "read" the water (where to find fish)and how to catch and release your fish.
