Gov. Pinchot's Grey Towers 40-Year Tradition Continues: Christmas Carol Dramatic Reading Now Available Online
Photo

Re-creating the past when families would gather ‘round their radios to listen to dramatic readings of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, The Grey Towers Heritage Association is hoping for the same this year.

Except instead of a radio, the broadcast will stream into homes via the Internet.

Joe and Therese Plummer, who have provided this favorite holiday classic in the Great Hall of Grey Towers in Milford, Pike County, for decades, professionally recorded the reading and offered it to the Heritage Association to keep the tradition going.

COVID restrictions this year eliminated the option for a live presentation, one of the Heritage Association’s annual fundraisers.

The Plummers, the Heritage Association and the US Forest Service at Grey Towers hope this will bring a bright spot into many homes this holiday season, during an otherwise challenging time.
