Watershed Alliance of York Sponsors 4th Watershed Weekend September 23 & 24

Reminder that the 4th Annual Watershed Weekend sponsored by the Watershed Alliance of York is coming up on September 23 & 24.

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Connecting People to Their Watersheds.” The public is invited and encouraged to get to know their watershed and the people and organizations working hard to restore and protect them.

This year the Alliance is offering 17 different ways to get to know your watershed and learn how to get involved protecting it. Venues include watershed cleanups, educational programs, fundraising events, recreational opportunities, and more.

Watershed Weekend 2006 will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Conewago Creek, Codorus Creek, Muddy Creek, and Gunpowder Creek Watersheds, in York County, Pennsylvania and Carroll County, Maryland.

Learn more about how you can get involved in Watershed Weekend 2006 by picking up our free self-guided tour pamphlet at your local library, government offices, and the York County ANNEX, or visit the 4th Annual Watershed Weekend webpage. All venues are free.

The Watershed Alliance of York is a coalition of stakeholders committed to encouraging watershed-based planning, restoration and protection through locally led initiatives, in York County and beyond.
