PA Organization For Watersheds & Rivers Unveils New Website; Memberships Available

On January 26, the PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers unveiled its new website to provide community-based watershed organizations better access to a wide variety of tools and resources to help them cleanup and protect Pennsylvania’s rivers and streams.

“I am consistently impressed by the dedication, passion, and amazing accomplishments of watershed organization leaders and volunteers in Pennsylvania. It is my hope that POWR’s new website provides helpful and useful information that will support, inform, and inspire,” said Tali MacArthur, Program Manager for Watershed Outreach.

The new site features a modern design that facilitates easy access to essential information including upcoming training events, grant programs, important news, and opportunities to celebrate and enjoy PA’s river and streams.

The site also includes exciting new features such as an interactive Calendar of Events, and extensive list of helpful Tools and Resources, and Sojourn and Watershed Organization Success Stories.

POWR’s redesigned website is ‘the place’ to go for any and all information watershed organization leaders; sojourn hosts, and anyone interested in getting involved in water and watershed conservation in PA needs to know!

The content and features on the new site were informed by the voices of community watershed organizations in Pennsylvania.

Feedback provided in surveys and during informal conversations was used to create a site that will support the ongoing work of these committed volunteers- volunteers eager to learn more, make meaningful connections, promote their efforts and successes, and stay up to date on essential news that impacts water and watershed resources.

Membership Campaign

POWR launches the site in parallel with its new Membership Campaign.

New membership categories and expanded benefits, including access to premium website features, will further serve the community watershed organizations, individuals, and other organizations dedicated to protecting, enhancing and showcasing the recreation value of our water resources and enable a shared and public commitment to that end.

POWR Board member, Anne Daymut, said of the new membership campaign, “the benefits of membership are great while remaining affordable for individuals and organizations.”

POWR’s new website will be updated on a regular basis with exciting learning opportunities, grant and funding sources, fun and educational sojourns and other events you can attend to show your support for a watershed organization along your favorite waterway.
