House: the House Environmental Resources & Energy Committee holds information meeting on hydrogen power and carbon capture and business meeting on House Bill 754 (Day-R-Lehigh) would exempt any restaurants that bottle and sell water to the public from the definition of “public water system” subject to the Safe Drinking Water Act (sponsor summary); the House Consumer Affairs Committee holds hearings - one on electric industry from PUC, Energy Assn. of PA and second on  the House Tourism & Recreational Development Committee holds information meeting on impact of COVID on tourism, lodging and attractions; the House Republican Policy Committee holds hearing on Francis E. Bills Introduced

The following bills of interest were introduced last week--

Phase Out Of PFAS In Firefighting Foam: Senate Bill 302 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) phasing out the use of PFAS chemicals in firefighting foam.

Changing Air Quality Advisory Committee Appointments: Senate Bill 301 (Yaw-R- Lycoming) eliminating appointment of DEP’s Air Quality Technical Advisory Committee members by the Governor and changing it to appointments made by the House, Senate and the Governor.  [Note: AQTAC had a tie vote on whether to recommend DEP’s carbon pollution reduction program go to the Environmental Quality Board for action.]

E-Waste Recycling: Senate Bill 415 (Gordner-R-Columbia) substantially overhauling electronics waste recycling program to model it after New York state (sponsor summary).
