Senate/House Bills Moving Last Week

The following bills of interest saw action last week in the House and Senate--

House

Farm Succession Grants: House Bill 183 (Fee-R-Lancaster) authorize the use of Agricultural Conservation Easement Purchase Funds for use as farm succession planning grants was reported into and out of the House Appropriations Committee [House Fiscal Note & Summary] and passed by the House.  The bill now goes to the Senate for action. 

Exempting Certain Restaurants From Safe Drinking Water Act: House Bill 754 (Day-R- Lehigh) would exempt eating and drinking establishments that bottle and sell water from the state Safe Drinking Water Act was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calendar for action.

Requiring Certain Restaurants To Comply With Safe Drinking Water Act: House Bill 755 (Day-R-Lehigh) would require eating and drinking establishments that bottle and sell water to comply with the state Safe Drinking Water Act requirements for water sources was removed from the Table and is now on the House Calenar for action.

Senate

Clean Vehicle Infrastructure: Senate Bill 435-- encouraging the development of clean transportation infrastructure to support electric, natural gas and hydrogen vehicles was reported out of the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action  Read more here.

Overfertilization: Senate Bill 251 (Yaw-R-Lycoming) which sets standards for the application of fertilizer to turf, provides for the certification of professional fertilizer applicators and for labeling and an education program was reported out of the Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and is now on the Senate Calendar for action.
