PA Resources Council To Host Spring Electronics Recycling Collections In Delaware, Allegheny Counties

The Pennsylvania Resources Council will host electronics recycling collection events in Delaware and Allegheny counties to provide residents with a convenient and cost-effective method of responsibly disposing of televisions, computers and other electronic equipment.

The collection event in Delaware County will take place on April 29, while a month-long pilot program in Allegheny County will launch on May 4.

“Across the state, PRC remains committed to the safe, ethical and responsible recycling of electronic waste,” according to PRC Interim Managing Director Sarah Alessio Shea.  “PRC is recognized for this commitment by the Basel Action Network (BAN) as an eStewards Enterprise.”

At all events, individuals can drop off AT NO COST cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.) and video game consoles/DVD players.

For a fee, individuals can drop off televisions, computer monitors and printers.

Participants must register in advance for all events.

“In addition to the advance registration process, PRC is integrating on-site procedures to reduce the number of interactions occurring between event participants and staff to promote safety,” according to Shea.  “To streamline the process at our events, we’re asking participants to wear face coverings and stay in their vehicles while the contractor unloads the materials.  When preparing to attend one of these collections, participants should place all materials in their car trunks or truck beds.”
