Nutrient Management Update Meeting Offered to Dauphin County Farmers

The Dauphin County Conservation District will host a free informational meeting October 18 about changes to The meeting will be held at the Dauphin County Agriculture and Natural Resource Center in Dauphin. Act 38 (formerly Act 6) regulations will take effect October 1, and will apply to farmers, manure haulers and brokers, and some equine operations. This meeting will cover nutrient management grants and plan updates, regulations for Concentrated Animal Operations and Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations, odor management, and the Agri-Link program. Representatives from the State Conservation Commission, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Environmental Protection, and the conservation district will be available to answer participants’ questions.
