DCNR Conservation & Natural Resources Advisory Council Meets Sept. 22 On Emergency Preparedness; Oct. 27 Economics And The Outdoors Discussion
|
DCNR's Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council is scheduled to hold a virtual meeting September 22 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. In recognition of September named as Preparedness Month, DCNR staff from several bureaus will present on Preparing for Natural Disasters and their Aftermath. Speakers will address how DCNR’s parks and forests prepare for the safety of their visitors and facilities. Because of their emergency training and expertise, DCNR are part of the front line in responding to weather-related emergencies and often are called to assist other organizations, agencies, and communities in times of need. Recent responses to tornadoes, flooding, fires and severe storms will be discussed. Because storm intensity and frequency are ever changing due to climate change, staff will also address what DCNR is doing to plan for the future to mitigate risk and help others prepare with current data and mapping. Public Comments If you are interested in presenting comments, please advise DCNR by email to kharris@bridgeconsultingcorp.com no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 21, so we can add you as an active participant. You can provide comments at the beginning of the meeting or at the end of the meeting. You may also provide comments or questions after the meeting by emailing the same address or through the Council's website.
