DEP Invites Comments On Proposed Alternative Restoration Plan For Baken Creek Watershed, Perry County

The Department of Environmental Protection invites comments on a proposed Alternative Restoration Plan developed for the Baken Creek Watershed in Perry County. (PA Bulletin, page 6319)

The ARP approach was chosen as a temporary alternative to the development of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL).

An ARP is currently a better option for this watershed because it not only sets a pollution reduction goal, but it also lays out a comprehensive plan for restoration. DEP plans on partnering with the Perry County Conservation District as primary stakeholders to implement the plan.

Public comments are due November 1.  Questions should be directed to Michael Morris at michamorri@pa.gov or by calling 717-772-5670.
