DEP Invites Comments On Proposed Alternative Restoration Plan For Baken Creek Watershed, Perry County
|
The Department of Environmental Protection invites comments on a proposed Alternative Restoration Plan developed for the Baken Creek Watershed in Perry County. (PA Bulletin, page 6319) The ARP approach was chosen as a temporary alternative to the development of a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL). An ARP is currently a better option for this watershed because it not only sets a pollution reduction goal, but it also lays out a comprehensive plan for restoration. DEP plans on partnering with the Perry County Conservation District as primary stakeholders to implement the plan. Click Here for a copy of the proposed ARP. Public comments are due November 1. Questions should be directed to Michael Morris at michamorri@pa.gov or by calling 717-772-5670. Read the entire PA Bulletin notice for more information.
