DEP Sets Oct. 27 Meeting/Hearing On Centre Lime & Stone Company Mining Permit Perry County

The Department of Environmental Protection has scheduled an October 27 meeting/hearing on the proposed Centre Lime & Stone Company mining permit located in Centre Township, Perry County.  (PA Bulletin, page 6481)

The proposed permit area includes 29.3 acres and all draining from the site will be directed to an unnamed tributary to the Little Juniata Creek.

The meeting/hearing will be held at the Perry County Courthouse, Room #1, 2 East Main Street in New Bloomfield.

An open house will be conducted between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. during which time DEP representatives will be available to answer questions.

A formal hearing will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Questions should be directed to DEP’s Ebensburg District Office at 814-472-1900.

A copy of the permit application is available at the Perry County Conservation District, 31 West Main Street in New Bloomfield.
