Women’s Council on Energy & Environment Honors McGinty

The Women’s Council on Energy and the Environment is honoring Kathleen McGinty, Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, in October as their 2004 Woman of The Year Award recipient.

Secretary McGinty was recognized for her significant contributions to the environment and energy fields during the past several years, and as the first woman to head Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection.

Previous recipients of this award include Sheila Slocum Hollis (Managing Partner, Duane Morris LLP), Nora Mead Brownell (Commissioner, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and former Commissioner on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission), and Katherine Fuller (President, World Wildlife Fund).
