Master Watershed Stewards In Berks & Schuylkill Counties To Unveil Live Stake Nursery At Cacoosing Park, Berks County Nov. 17
Photo

The Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards of Berks and Schuylkill counties would like to invite the public to join us at Cacoosing Meadows Park, 3286 State Hill Road, Sinking Spring in Berks County on November 17, from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. for an unveiling of the newly planted live stake nursery.

This brief educational program will introduce park visitors to this unique nursery installation while discussing the benefits of riparian buffers and how the nursery will provide watershed improvement possibilities throughout the county.

The program will also discuss what live stakes are and how residents can use them on their own property as a low-cost way to help control streamside erosion.

This installation was made possible by the partnerships with the Township of Spring and Berks County Conservation District and with funding received by the Watershed Coalition of the Lehigh Valley, in partnership with the Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program, through the Pennsylvania American Water Environmental Grant program.

The Pennsylvania State University encourages qualified persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing any type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please contact us at 610-378-1327 in advance of your participation or visit.
