Help Wanted: Fish & Boat Commission Seasonal Biologist Aides - Anadromous Fish Restoration Unit
|
|
The Fish and Boat Commission's Anadromous Fish Restoration Unit is seeking qualified individuals to fill several seasonal Fisheries Biologist Aide positions from April through early July. Primary work duties include maintaining and operating a seasonal fish hatchery, the culture and stocking of American Shad fry, and the collection and processing of biological samples. These positions are based in the State College area and require a daily commute (transportation provided) to the Van Dyke Research Station for Anadromous Fishes in Thompsontown, Juniata County. These positions appeal to those who have recently graduated from college and are looking for experience in the fields of fisheries, fish culture and natural resources. Our FBAs gain valuable experience and although these are strictly temporary, non-civil service positions, many have gone on to permanent positions within the Commission or other state and federal resource agencies.
