Environmental Health Project: Feb. 22 Shale Gas & Public Health: Translating Science Into Policy Public Health Summit

The Pennsylvania-based Environmental Health Project will host a virtual Shale Gas and Public Health: Translating Science Into Policy Public Health Summit on February 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The summit will feature speakers in four key areas: endocrine disruption, child health and development, health economics, and environmental justice.

Speakers will include, respectively, Dr. Linda Birnbaum (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences), Dr. Élyse Caron-Beaudoin (University of Toronto Scarborough), Dr. Nicholas Muller (Carnegie Mellon University), and Rev. Dr. Gregory Simpson (Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church).

After a morning plenary session to frame the various issues, attendees will participate in a breakout group discussion on one of the four primary topics: endocrine disruption, child health and development, health economics, or environmental justice.

The summit will close with a panel discussion to highlight relevant insights, recommendations, and further questions to be answered.

This event is made possible by generous support from The Heinz Endowments, The 11th Hour Project, and The Madelon Global Health Foundation.
