IFO: 2021 Act 13 Drilling Impact Fee Revenue $233.8 Million; Still Short Of 2018 Revenue Of $251.8 Million

On January 18, the Independent Fiscal Office issued a report estimating the Act 13 drilling impact fee revenue will total $233.8 million for calendar 2021, an increase of $87.6 million from 2020.

However, this total is still short of 2018 revenue of $251.8 million.

In 2020, revenue totaled $146.3 million, 2019 $200.4 million, 2018 $251.8 million and 2017 $209.6 million.

The $233.8 million 2021 revenue will be divided primarily for these uses--

-- Local Governments & Housing: $129.3 million;

-- Marcellus Legacy Fund: $86.2 million;

-- State Agencies: $10.5 million; and

-- Conservation Districts: $7.9 million.
