Register Now For 2022 Shale Network Workshop In State College May 12-13

Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Shale Network Workshop on May 12-13 at The Graduate in State College.  The theme of the conference is Ten Years Of Unconventional Resource Development: Lessons Learned And Future Directions.

The workshop provides an opportunity for citizen scientists, researchers, government officials, energy company representatives, and environmental professionals to compare lessons learned about water and environmental issues within areas where shale energy development is occurring.

It also includes presentations on the health effects related to shale gas development.

The workshop also features a field trip - "Energy Choices, Energy Footprints: A Decarbonized Future" - which will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on May 12.

The Shale Network is a collaborative effort between Penn State, Syracuse University, and the University of Pittsburgh to collect and analyze data on water quality in the Marcellus Shale drilling region.

The Workshop organized and/or sponsored by: National Science Foundation, Penn State (Earth and Environmental Systems Institute, Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research, Institutes for Energy and the Environment), University of Pittsburgh, Syracuse University, Evergreen Conservancy, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP), Pennsylvania Department of Health.
