Environmental Quality Board Meets May 18 On Vanadium Standard, Coal Refuse Disposal Regulations

The Environmental Quality Board is scheduled to meet May 18 on a proposed Land Recycling Program regulation on vanadium and a final regulation on coal refuse disposal.

Vanadium

The proposed Land Recycling Program regulation would set a Medium Specific Concentration for vanadium at environmental remediation sites.

Coal Refuse

The final Coal Refuse Disposal regulation addresses differences between federal and state requirements relating to the temporary cessation of coal refuse disposal site operations.

Oil & Gas Bonding Petition

The Board may also hear an update on DEP’s review of rulemaking petitions to increase oil and gas well plugging bonding for conventional and unconventional drilling operations.  Read more here.
