Local communities across the Commonwealth are experiencing an increase in the number of requests from businesses, organizations, landowners, and residents to install solar energy systems due to unpredictable and spiking natural gas and fossil energy costs.

Fortunately, resources are available to support our communities in their pursuit of energy independence and security through solar.

Join the Pennsylvania Solar Center on July 22 for a special webinar as we explore programs such as SolarAPP+, an advanced solar permitting software program that fosters efficient, user-friendly permitting for rooftop solar projects.

Ron Celentano, Technical Advisor for the Philadelphia Solar Energy Association, will join us to discuss how SolarAPP+ can streamline permitting, reduce costs and grow residential rooftop solar faster at the local level.

We’ll also be joined by Jim Price, Senior Program Manager for Sustainable Pittsburgh, who will discuss how Pennsylvania’s municipalities can earn recognition for addressing local barriers to solar deployment through programs like SolSmart, a national program that recognizes communities fostering the growth of solar, and Sustainable PA, a certification program for Pennsylvania’s municipalities to demonstrate their commitment to take economic, environmental and social actions that benefit communities, including supporting solar’s development.

The Pennsylvania Solar Center will also feature its G.E.T. Solar Communities program and how communities can compete for resources that support local businesses and nonprofits that want to go solar. Community volunteer teams will receive training, a toolkit, expert outreach support, and an estimate of their community’s solar potential.

The Pennsylvania Solar Center will issue RFPs to qualified developers for interested organizations and help them through the solar procurement process.

Who should attend?
