Spaces are still available for Keystone Trails Association’s 14th Annual KTA Trail Challenge to be held September 10 in the beautiful river hills of southern Lancaster and York Counties.

Trail runners and hikers choose between 50K and 25K route options and have twelve hours to complete the course.

The routes incorporate portions of the Conestoga and Mason Dixon Trails with highlights like Wind Cave, Tucquan Glen Preserve, Kellys Run Preserve, Susquehannock State Park, historic Lock 12, and more.

Checkpoints along the way provide snacks, beverages and rest rooms, and a catered picnic awaits participants at the finish line.

The 25k starts at Susquehannock State Park, and the 50k at Pequea Creek Campground.

The finish line for both is at Pequea Creek. Participants receive a tech t-shirt, finisher medallion, and a shuttle back to the starting area for the 25K runners. Overall winners receive special prizes from REI.

With a route notorious for its rigor and natural splendor, this popular event draws hundreds of participants each year.

“Folks come from across PA and out of state to experience this amazing run,” says Brook Lenker, Executive Director of Keystone Trails Association. “For runners and hikers, it’s an event not to be missed.”
