The following DEP notices were published in the September 10 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

Land Recycling Cleanups

-- EQT Corporation: Lumber Well Pad Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with aluminum, barium, boron, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc in Springhill Twp., Greene County.   (PA Bulletin, page 5861)

-- EQT Corporation: Drift Ridge Well Pad Final Report concerning remediation of soil contaminated with aluminum, barium, boron, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, zinc, and chloride in Wayne Twp., Greene County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5862)

-- CNX Company: GH56 Well Pad Final Report concerning remediation of soil contaminated with aluminum, barium, boron, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc in Center Twp., Greene County did NOT demonstrate attainment of cleanup standard.  DEP Issued a technical deficiency letter: August 28, 2022.   (PA Bulletin, page 5863)

-- Philadelphia Energy Solutions Refinery: Remedial Investigation Report concerning remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons and lead did NOT demonstrate attainment of the site-specific standards at the facility in Philadelphia. DEP issued a technical deficiency letter: August 18, 2022.  (PA Bulletin, page 5862)

Oil & Gas Well Drilling Permits*

-- 8.27.22 to 9.2.22: DEP issued 11 conventional and 9 unconventional oil & gas well permits

-- 1.1.22 to 9.2.22: DEP issued 213 conventional and 548 unconventional oil & gas well permits

-- 1.1.22 to 9.2.22: 149 conventional and 405 unconventional oil & gas wells were drilled

-- 1.1.22 to 9.2.22: DEP issued 2,912 conventional and 773 unconventional oil and gas well notices of violation

Pipeline Compressor/Pumping Stations

-- MarkWest Liberty Midstream And Resources LLC: Air Quality Permit for natural gas compressor station in Donegal Township, Washington County.  Comments due in 30 days.  (PA Bulletin, page 5843)

-- RW Bathering LLC: Application received for Salem Compressor Station changing responsible person on Air Quality Permit in Derry Twp., Westmoreland County   (PA Bulletin, page 5864)

-- EQM Gathering OPCO LLC: Issued Air Quality Permit for triethylene glycol dehydration unit in Fallowfield Twp., Washington County.    (PA Bulletin, page 5864)

-- Sunoco Pipeline LP:  Issued Air Quality Permit for the Doylesburg natural gas liquids (ethane, propane, butane or a mixture)  pumping station in Toboyne Twp., Perry County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5866)

Chapter 105 Encroachment Permits

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: Application received for an after-the-fact permit for wetlands impact from the construction of the White Sus Well Pad in Auburn Twp., Susquehanna County.   (PA Bulletin, page 5848)

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: Application received for constructing a well pad impacting wetlands in West Burlington Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5849)

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: DEP issued after-the-fact permit for construction of Oilcan Bra Pad in Overton Twp., Bradford County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5868)

Erosion & Sedimentation Permits

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: Permit issued for project in Litchfield Twp., Bradford County impacting Bullard Creek tributary.  (PA Bulletin, page 5869)

-- PennEnergy Resources LLC: Permit issued for a project in Middlesex Twp., Butler County impact Glade Run tributary.  (PA Bulletin, page 5869)

-- APEX WML Midstream LLC: Permit issued for a project in Penn Twp., Westmoreland County impacting Turtle Creek.  (PA Bulletin, page 5870)

-- Range Resources-Appalachia LLC: Permit issued for a project in Cecil Twp., Washington County impacting Millers Run.  (PA Bulletin, page 5870

Section 401 Water Quality Certification

-- Williams Field Services Company: DEP issued certification for environmental assessment of a stream restoration, stabilization project to prevent further stream degradation along an existing natural gas gathering pipeline in Rush Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 5869)

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: DEP issued certification for environmental assessment of after-the-fact construction of an existing well pad impacting wetlands in Litchfield Twp., Bradford County. (PA Bulletin, page 5869)

Impoundments

-- Chesapeake Appalachia LLC: Application received for a project to remove fill and restore area where construction of an existing 2.581 acre water impoundment impacts wetlands in Auburn Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 5841)
