DEP Hosts Dec. 7 Hearing On Proposed NPDES Permit For A Sewage Discharge Into Swiftwater Creek, An Exceptional Value Stream In Monroe County

The Department of Environmental Protection will hold a December 7 hearing on an intent to issue an NPDES Water Quality permit to Pocono Manor Investors, LP for the discharge of treated sewage from The Inn At Pocono Manor in Pocono Township, Monroe County.   (PA Bulletin, page 6932)

The proposed discharge would be to Swiftwater Creek, an Exceptional Value stream.

The hearing will be held at the Tunkhannock Township Volunteer Fire Company Hall, 1539 Long Pond Road, Long Pond, PA 18334 starting at 6:00 p.m.

Persons wishing to present testimony at the hearing should contact DEP’s Community Relations Coordinator at coconnolly@pa.gov or 570-826-2511 before 4:00 p.m. on December 6, 2022.

Persons unable to attend the hearing may submit three copies of a written statement and exhibits by December 17 to the Department of Environmental Protection.
