Senate/House ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Both the Senate and House have adjourned for the year, barring an emergency.  All committees and legislation will dissolve when this two-year legislative session ends on November 30.

The General Assembly is scheduled to start its new two-year session on January 1 when it restarts and bills need to start over.

The Senate Republicans and Democrats have chosen their leadership, but given the recent election results showing House Democrats with a slim majority the House leadership has not yet been finalized.

Watch for the naming of Committee chairs in the next few weeks, with members of committees after that.

Gov.-elect Josh Shapiro began his transition process and watch for him to name transition teams for each state agency to identify priority issues the new administration must address in the first few months of their term.
