RegenAll, Partners To Host Collaborative Climate Summit April 22 In Lancaster

On April 22, organizations and businesses around Lancaster County will celebrate Earth Day by sharing their expertise and services at the first-ever Lancaster County Climate Summit.

The event, organized by climate-concerned citizens and action nonprofit RegenAll, will take place in venues across Lancaster City, each with its own thematic focus on the challenge of climate change.

“We live in a narrow window of time for decision-makers to have a measurable, positive impact on our planet’s future,” explains event chair Dave Bushnell. “The challenge we confront is to know what we can do and how to get started or advance our efforts toward sustainability. We believe it’s only through collective action that we can achieve positive climate outcomes.”

The impact of climate change on our daily lives is becoming increasingly evident.

A survey by the World Meteorological Organization shows a continued warming trend in 2022. And while there is momentum around solutions, global greenhouse gas emissions are still increasing.

This data is backed up by tangible evidence – reduced crop harvests, extreme weather events, and widespread community displacement.

The Climate Summit is a community-focused event for families, concerned citizens, and businesses to work together to advance climate awareness and find ways to take action in Lancaster County.

“We want to establish Lancaster as a regional leader in climate action,” says Joyce Burkholder, Community Outreach Coordinator at RegenAll. “The Climate Summit will bring the important issues into focus and allow neighbors to connect in actionable ways they can reduce their impact on the environment.”

The Climate Summit is expected to bring thousands of attendees through six themed sites in Lancaster City, where attendees can listen to experts, learn about local green service providers, and connect with existing action groups.

More information about speakers and special guests will be available soon.

Businesses and organizations interested in sponsoring or participating in the Climate Summit are encouraged to contact Joyce at joyce@regenall.org before February 15th.

More information about themes, locations, and speakers can be found on the Lancaster County Climate Summit website.
