National Fish & Wildlife Foundation Accepting Proposals For PA Most Effective Basins In Chesapeake Bay Watershed Grants

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Agency and the federal-state Chesapeake Bay Program partnership, is soliciting proposals to accelerate implementation of cost-effective agricultural best management practices as part of the Pennsylvania Most Effective Basins Grants Program.

The deadline for proposals is April 27.

NFWF has increased the PA-MEB award cap and will award grants of up to $1,000,000 for projects that result in the direct implementation of eligible agricultural best management practices.

In addition to proposals seeking funding for direct practice implementation, NFWF and program partners are also soliciting proposals to provide for: (1) necessary technical assistance costs associated with conservation planning, and the design, engineering, and permitting of eligible practices that may be implemented at a later date or through other funding sources; and (2) piloting of innovative methods and approaches for verification of existing practices in support of ongoing crediting of existing practices for additional nitrogen reduction.

This program is part of the NFWF Chesapeake Bay Stewardship Fund Program.
