March 29 Southeastern PA Town Hall Meeting In Chester County To Focus On Health, Environmental Impacts Of Fossil Fuels

The Physicians for Social Responsibility in PA and Watchdogs of Southeastern PA are hosting a March 29 in-person and virtual town hall in Chester County to talk openly, share opinions, and ask questions about environmental health issues specifically affecting Southeastern Pennsylvanians.

In Pennsylvania, over 1.5 million people live within a half mile of an oil and gas well, and town halls give these community members the opportunity to have their voice heard.

It is the first of a series of five Town Halls discussing oil and gas-related issues like radioactive emissions study results, optical gas imaging (OGI), air quality monitors and test kits.

Health care professionals understand the importance of prevention over cure, and prioritize the health of the communities they serve. These protectors of community wellbeing can see the impact that the oil and gas industry has on millions of people in Pennsylvania.

As health care professionals, we can contact state legislators, local, state and federal organizations, and present the peer-reviewed data on the harms of toxic industries as well as highlight community experiences.

Our involvement in the town hall process lends our scientific knowledge, advocates for residents, and adds the voice of some of the most trusted professions.

The in-person meeting will be held at The Barn at Upland Farms, 301 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs, PA 19425.  The programs will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
