The Eastern PA Coalition for Abandoned Mine Reclamation will host a PA Solar On Mined Lands Summit on July 19 at the Ramada Conference Center in State College from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The Statewide Summit will serve as a venue to disseminate the information compiled from the regional Focus Group Sessions, as well as a forum to present findings in the Assessment of Opportunities for Grid-Scale Solar Development on Previously Impacted Mine Lands in Pennsylvania.

This report will cover several key issues in siting solar energy facilities on mined lands--

-- Explore in-depth the different challenges associated with siting grid-scale solar development on previously mined lands,

-- Gain a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders involved in the development process,

-- Identify factors leading to successful deployments of grid-scale solar project projects in Pennsylvania and other states on previously mined lands,

-- Develop actionable recommendations to improve the processes and other factors involved in siting grid-scale solar projects on previously mined lands.

The Summit is also offering opportunities for exhibit space and to sponsor the luncheon program.  Contact Robert Hughes, EPCAMR, for information by sending an email to: rhughes@epcamr.org
