January is Radon Awareness Month, Test To Be Sure

Radon, a naturally occurring colorless and odorless radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in America, just behind cigarette smoking and January is set aside each year to educate people of its dangers.

The good news is that people can reduce their radon exposure at home, at school and the workplace by taking a few easy steps, like getting an inexpensive test to see if you have a problem.

To learn more, visit DEP’s Radon webpage or call 1-800-557-2366.
