PA Resources Council: Registration Open For Weekday Electronics Waste Collection In Allegheny County
Photo

Throughout October, the PA Resources Council will collect electronics for recycling on designated weekdays in Allegheny County from registered participants.

Through the generous support of Allegheny County Health Department, PRC will conduct e-waste collection events on Mondays and Wednesdays in October in North Park.

“PRC helps residents conveniently and cost-effectively dispose of a wide variety of items not accepted in curbside pickup,” according to PRC Executive Director Darren Spielman.  “We need to divert these materials from landfills since many contain toxic elements that can leach into our waterways and our environment, while others contain valuable resources.”

Registration currently is open for the four-week collection series taking place in North Park:

-- Mondays, October 2, 9, 16, 23 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

-- Wednesdays, October 4, 11, 18, 25 from Noon – 3:00 p.m.

Participants must register in advance at PRC’s Collection Events webpage or by calling 412-488-7490.

For a PER-ITEM FEE, individuals can recycle--

-- Computer Monitors (flat screen & CRT) – $20 each

-- Televisions – $30 each

-- Console or Rear Projection TVs – $40 each

-- Printers – $5 each

Those not paying a per-item fee for disposal of materials listed above will pay a $5 participant fee for unlimited disposal of cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.) and video game consoles/DVD players.

For weekday collection details, visit PRC’s Collection Events webpage.

This 2023 PRC weekday e-waste collection campaign is sponsored by Allegheny County Health Department and Allegheny County Parks Department.
