DCNR Conservation & Natural Resources Advisory Council Meets Sept. 27 At Tiadaghton State Forest Center, Lycoming County

DCNR's Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council will hold its next meeting September 27 at the Tiadaghton State Forest Resource Management Center, 10 Lower Pine Bottom Road in Waterville, Lycoming County from 10:00 a.m. to Noon.

Council members will travel to the Pine Creek Valley earlier in the week to hear from businesses and residents about the ATV Pilot and the Pine Creek Rail-Trail. Both recreational opportunities bring economic value to the region.

At the September 27 meeting, Jason Fink, President, Williamsport/Lycoming County Chamber of Commerce will discuss how the ATV pilot and Pine Creek rail-trail, as well as other outdoor recreation opportunities, contribute to the success of the PA Wilds region.

Public Comment

There will be two opportunities for public comment at the meeting.  If you are interested in presenting comments, please advise by email to abowling@pa.gov no later than 5 p.m. on September 26. 

You can provide comments at the beginning of the meeting or at the end of the meeting.  You may also provide comments or questions after the meeting by emailing the same address or through the Council's webpage.

New Members Wanted

Council is looking for interested candidates to fill current and future vacancies.  Interested individuals should have interest in and experience with DCNR work and programs and a background in recreation, natural resources and conservation work.

Council invites you to participate in Part 2 of this webinar series, which will take place on October 17 from 12 to 1:30 p.m.

Panelists will discuss the importance of forests as part of the climate solution and highlight carbon-related management principles for use on both public and private forest lands.
