PA Solar Center: Oct. 20 Webinar On Solar Guidebook For PA Landowners - Leasing Property For Large-Scale Solar Development

The Pennsylvania Solar Center will host an October 20 webinar on Solar Guidebook For PA Landowners - Leasing Property For Large-Scale Solar Development from Noon to 1:15 p.m.

Solar is one of the fastest-growing energy sources in the world. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, the U.S. solar industry is on target to add a record-breaking 32 gigawatts of new solar capacity to the grid in 2023, which is 50% more than it added last year.

Due to several policy incentives and the fact that large-scale solar is now the least expensive form of electricity, energy companies around the world are expanding their solar operations through large-scale and community solar operations.

Many of them have their eyes set on Pennsylvania due to its abundance of land and proximity to electricity transmission lines.

That's why the Pennsylvania Solar Center and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services have teamed up to develop a Guidebook for Landowners to navigate Pennsylvania's growing solar markets.

Solar projects are continuing to multiply across the country while many Pennsylvanians are looking for easy-to-access, practical knowledge about what the solar development process looks like in our state.

Join us for an overview of our Guidebook for Pennsylvania Landowners: Leasing Property for Large-Scale Solar Development.

Our Landowner Guidebook is designed to provide useful information on the most important aspects of the solar development process, such as the different types of solar projects, considerations for land that are suitable for large-scale solar development, the different stages of development and the solar lease agreement, farming and rural land considerations, case studies, and more information to ensure all stakeholders can share in solar's benefits.

We're going to dig into the details of our Guidebook with Michael Parker, Executive Director and Managing Attorney at Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services.

Michael has dedicated his time and expertise to compiling the information and recommendations contained within the Guidebook and helped lead a collaborative interview process to ensure the Guidebook integrates the perspectives of stakeholders across the solar value chain.
