PA Solar Center Webinar Nov. 17 - PA Boroughs Clean Energy Community Choice Aggregation
|
|
Join the Pennsylvania Solar Center and a panel of experts to learn more about Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) on November 17 starting at Noon for an opportunity to learn more about how Pennsylvania boroughs are advancing clean energy in their communities. CCA is well established in more than a dozen states, and it has already been authorized for Pennsylvania boroughs to take action. CCA enables local governments to pre-select electricity providers for their constituents; however, residents and local businesses can opt out of CCA at any time. When combined with solar, CCA provides strong energy price stability and lower energy costs compared to what individual consumers can negotiate on their own. We'll be joined by local leaders involved with Community Choice Aggregation for Pennsylvania, a movement that's working to give local communities more power over energy choices and opportunities to control energy prices. Presenters include Denis Rowan of CCA for PA and John McKinistry of Swarthmore Borough, which is one of the five boroughs moving forward with CCA. We'll also have Ron Celentano, President of the Pennsylvania Solar & Storage Association, and Liz Robinson, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Solar Energy Association, to discuss the benefits that CCA provides local governments and communities. And we'll be joined by Baird Brown, Principal of eco(n)law firm who has provided legal guidance for the effort to increase adoption of CCA. Click Here to register and for more information. The Pennsylvania Solar Center is a nonpartisan, nonprofit effort to raise the awareness of the benefits of solar energy in Pennsylvania. Click Here to sign up for regular updates.
