On November 8, the Department of Environmental Protection announced it has extended the deadline for submitting concept papers for $16 million in PA Grid Resilience funding provided by the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Act to November 14. Funding is available for eligible resilience measures intended to mitigate the impact of electric grid disruptive events. DEP is seeking applications for innovative, advanced and transformative projects resulting in a more resilient and reliable electric grid while promoting the expansion of clean energy generation, workforce benefits and positive outcomes in disadvantaged communities. Entities that own or operate electric power system infrastructure throughout this Commonwealth should apply. These entities may include electric grid operators, electricity storage operators, electricity generators, transmission owners or operators, distribution providers, fuel suppliers and any other relevant entity as determined by the Department in consultation with the United States Department of Energy. The two-step application process involves submitting a concept paper by November 14. The full application is due by January 26 for those encouraged to apply.
