DEP Invites Comments On MarkWest Project To Expose 4 Natural Gas Pipelines For 5,500+ Feet Ahead Of Longwall Mining In Donegal Twp., Washington County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the February 17 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a Chapter 105 permit covering a MarkWest Liberty Midstream & Resources, LLC project to expose natural gas pipelines to prevent damage from longwall coal mining.  (PA Bulletin, page 811)

The project would expose four natural gas pipelines for over 5,500 feet-- 12-inch (2), 16-inch, 20-inch-- for approximately six months at a site located in Donegal Township, Washington County.

The construction would impact Dutch Fork, a High Quality stream, wetlands and associated floodways in 31 different areas.
