DEP Invites Comments On Air Quality Permit For Encina Plant For Chemically Recycling Plastics In Northumberland County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the February 17 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a proposed Air Quality Plan Approval for the Encina Fort Union LLC chemical plastics recycling facility proposed to be located in Point Township, Northumberland County. (PA Bulletin, page 794)

A 30-day comment period from the date of this publication will exist for the submission of comments, protests and information.

DEP has not scheduled a hearing on this application. Any individual wishing to request a hearing may do so during the 30-day comment period.

A public hearing may be held, if DEP, in its discretion, decides that a hearing is warranted based on the information received.

Copies of the application, DEP’s analysis, all pertinent documents used in the evaluation of the application and subsequently prepared proposed plan approvals/operating permits are available for public review during normal business hours at the appropriate DEP Regional Office.
