DEP Declares 57 Industrial Plants Meet Air Quality RACT Rules; Hearing Set For April 12

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the February 24 PA Bulletin inviting comments on its determination that 57 major industrial facilities across the state meet Air Quality RACT II and RACT III requirements and the 2015 national ozone pollution standard. Among the facilities are the US Steel Clairton Coke [Coal] Plant and the Edgar Thompson Steel Plant in Allegheny County, Energy Transfer Marcus Hook Terminal, Monroe Energy, LLC Trainer and the Transcontinental Gas Salladasburg Compressor Station in Lycoming County.. DEP will hold a hearing on the determinations April 12 at the Southcentral Regional Office, 909 Elmerton Avenue in Harrisburg starting at 10:00 a.m. To register to speak at the hearing, send an email to RA-EPAIRCOMMENTS@pa.gov.
