“The Luck of the Irish” was with the Litter Lifters of West Vincent March 16 at our litter cleanup event of Route 401/202 interchange in Malvern!

With the sun shining on our faces, 25 volunteers worked for 2 hrs and removed 85 bags of litter.

Shoutout to: Kaelyn Stek-Young Ambassador with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful for her help in planning; East Whiteland Fire Company /Gary McCusker and East Whiteland Police Department /Chief Yeager for providing top notch safety support; WAWA for making hoagies for our volunteers; East Whiteland Township for inviting their residents to participate and Larry Iaccio- Director of Park and Rec; Rachael Griffith- director of Sustainability for Chester County Planning Commission; students from Villa Maria Academy High School; Great Valley School District NHS students; Pete Goodman from Valley Forge Chapter of Trout Unlimited; Jim Scaperotto for managing the litter crew ahead signs; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Chester county office for hauling all the piles away for us; volunteers who showed up to work.

This is a perfect example of many groups coming together to solve a problem.

In this case, a huge litter  problem at a busy interchange. We helped protect the Valley creek and wildlife habitat.  We made a good dent in the volume of litter that was a horrific eyesore.

We all use these roads- we all need to keep them clean!
